Workshop Across the Field beam built by the Country RoadsThe main workshop building at Elrington Colliery, seen across the yard from the blacksmith shop side. The gantry crane structure rising above the roofline served a 15 tonne overhead electric crane inside. BHP Collieries operated the site from 1930 until December 1962, when the mine closed with large coal reserves still in the ground. Part of the Elrington Colliery series.
