There is a central zip fastening at the reverse with a hook eye closure at the top

The fitted bodice is sleeveless with pinched fabric straps and a sweetheart neckline which crosses over the bust to the left and is framed with a pretty upward facing ruched trim in white

He is known for his unisex style of dressing and was worn by leading French stars of the day including Brigitte Bardot and Francoise Hardy

This piece is in really super vintage condition with no faults of any note

The fabric is a a high shine white satin which has either been screen printed or hand painted with roses and other summer flowers in a lovely shade of raspberry pink

We have referenced Chanel's 1936 design here. This dress is unlabelled although American made and despite extensive research, I have been unable to ascertain who designed this. With a bateau neckline, the monochrome banding is horizontal on the bodice and has a chevron appearance on the skirt element
