1972 Gibson EB-3 Cherry Split-Shaft is the original hardcaseAlthough never quite taking off like Fender, Gibson made a variety of very cool basses, with the EB 3 being perhaps one of the more iconic silhouettes. Closely adopting the shape of the SG, the EB 3 was introduced in 1961 and was produced until around 1979. This particular example dating to 1972 features the neck pickup moved closer to the bridge, the two point bridge, as well as a neck volute, which when combined with the serial range point to that
