They wanted special gift to the owner of Rip curl, celebration of 50 years of Rip Curl pro. They wanted replicate Michael Petersons winning surfboard since from 1973 and he was the very first man to took the trophy. I spent several months to research and thanks very much to Peter Towend who was in the contest with MP and shaping surfboards side by side in Kirra back in the day.
